Our classic, two-sided and award-winning pre-math and pre-reading toy just got better! Side one features a pegboard for sorting, stacking, counting, and matching the 25 easy-to-grasp pegs of various sizes and colors; the flip side features a raised peg geoboard for creating geometric designs. Updated set includes 12 two-sided pattern cards, with activities for both sides of the board! Rubber bands (not included) not recommended for under 3 years of age. Pegboard is 10 1/2" / 26.7 cm square.

I absolutely love this product! Tons of play value and you'll be able to use it for many years (easily into middle elementary school). Comes with activity cards for suggested play and the pegboard is a wonderful tool for reinforcing early math skills and developing fine motor skills. Here are our top 5 ways that we've played with the pegboard:

- Create the highest tower by stacking the pegs - it's all very exciting and my 4-year old always laughs when it comes crashing down!

- Loose parts play (the pegs are perfect for making "rainbow soup")

- Freeze the pegs, place them in a large bin and use squirt bottles filled with warm water to "save the jewels"

- Race to fill the board! Place all of the pegs in a bowl and see who can fill the board with all of them in the fastest time!

- "What's missing?" Fill the board with all of the pegs and remove one. Get your child to figure out which peg (shape and colour) has disappeared

1) My favourite part about playing with the pegboard? It’s big enough and has enough parts for both my 4-year old and my 21-month old to play together with it at the same time, in different age-appropriate ways.

As a homeschooling mom of four kids, I like products that can be used in different ways with each of my kids. My 18 month old is learning to stack, my 3 year old is working on colours and shapes, my 5 year old is working on patterns, and my 7 year old is doing geometry with the geo board on the back. Friends are still using this for junior high math concepts. I love that the Giant Pegboard will last us so long, and that it keeps the littles busy while I do school with the older two!

I have four small children ages 1-6 and they all spend hours learning with the Giant Pegboard. My baby loves the rattle pegs, and watching the older siblings stack and topple; my toddler loves stacking and matching colors and shapes; my preschooler enjoys lacing the pegs on a string and is starting to enjoy the rubber bands on the geoboard too - making shape and letters on it; my early elementary student is starting to enjoy the activities on the cards, along with the other things his siblings enjoy.

I, for one, love the durability, the versatility, and the available replacement pegs too! If I could only recommend one Discovery Toy to my friends (which would be a very difficult thing to do!), it would be the Giant Pegboard. Every family with small children needs one! I gift them to all of my relatives and friends for a first or second birthday so they can enjoy it for years to come!
