I had no idea when I joined Discovery Toys 22 years ago how it would change my life. I joined when my boys were one and three. Being a former teacher, I saw the educational value in the toys. But I loved how my boys couldn’t break them! I’ll be honest I wanted the toy discount and the extra free toys you can earn in your first few months in the business. I had no intention of doing this long-term. What I discovered is I found part of “me” that I had lost staying home with my boys. Discovery Toys got me out of the house to talk to other adults a few times a week! I fell in love with being able to teach other parents about child development. This is a business that directly benefited my children. They loved being “toy testers”. My children have an amazing relationship with their father because I wasn’t always around. Let’s face it, Dad’s do things differently and that’s okay.

I also fell in love with the flexibility of the business. Discovery Toys has allowed me to work my life around my children’s busy lives. When my daughter was born, I was able to take as much time off as I wanted. When my parents were sick, I was there without having to ask for time off. I never missed a preschool party, fieldtrip, basketball game or dance practice. I don’t have to worry about childcare if someone gets sick. I am the “go to mom” for my mom friends if their child needs to be picked up. I am home every day when they get home from school. When my adult children call and need to talk I’m available.

I also didn’t expect the goalsetting and values Discovery Toys have instilled in my children. I never expected the friends that have become family. I never expected the amazing trips Discovery Toys has taken my husband and I on.
